  • Hello delegates! I’m Farihah Ahmed, one of the deputy chairs for SDG 14. I’m a 9th grader in the American International School of Dhaka. I’m from Dhaka, Bangladesh, and I live there currently. I’m an international student, so I will be flying in with my classmates before the conference. This will be my third year attending MSMUN-Q, and my first time attending as a chair! I began MUN in 7th grade, and since then, it has become a huge part of my life. MUN has been a passion for me since the 7th grade, and I’ve attended multiple conferences ever since. I’m also currently chairing in my school’s HS and MS MUN clubs. MUN has taught me leadership and advocacy, confidence, and has fueled my love for global politics. In my free time, you can find me with a basketball, eating Nandos, reading fashion magazines, or watching Gossip Girl. I’m super excited to be chairing this year, and I can’t wait to meet you all!

  • Delegates! Now is the time for RESEARCH, RESEARCH, and RESEARCH! For the following week, you will be doing your country research, and research on the issue. You can find guides and details below.

    Country Research:
This is the time for you all to understand the views of your country in global politics. You should try to learn as much as you can about them! This will help you understand which issue pertains to your country the most, and on which issue you should write your clauses.

Please use this pdf document as a guide to begin your country research: https://qatar.thimun.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Research_and_Preparation_DW_Series_4.pdf

    Research on the Issue:
To begin your research on the issue, you may start by reading the research reports and research videos which were prepared by us, your chairs.

You can find all of the videos/reports here: http://msmun.thimunqatarpress.org/conference/issues-on-the-agenda/

Feel free to ask any questions in this comment thread! Next week, from March 17th, we will begin to develop your country’s policy statements.

    Happy researching!
